Everything’s all the usual MARVEL genocide, everyone’s sad and crying and dead, but then the Kree enforcrs find Lockjaw and Maximus, and...

(also Triton and Maximus are apparently dead too but LOCKJAW NOOOO)

Well to be fair, after conquering them and then leaving going "Welp, new author wants the status quo back... good luck Kree!" I can't really blame them on the hate side of things.

I think the recent Lockjaw mini-series ended with a promotion for this event.
I mention it because now I am picturing a kid who read that book and thought it was fun and colorful and all.
Then they pick this book hoping for more Lockjaw and then BAM! all these characters are brutally murdered, including the cute giant doggo everyone loves!

But you know, it is a mystery why kids aren't that into comics anymore...

It really stings that they did that miniseries right before killing him off. I suppose making people love a character and then snatching them off the table and into the bin is their idea of "engaging readers", but it sure doesn’t work on me.

Also I really really hope no kids actually got this comic :(

Thing is, I doubt Disney has much of anything to do with the comic side of things. They might not care much about the Inhumans anymore, but I doubt they went, "and now you better get rid of those damn Inhumans...."

Never count a comicbook character down even if you do have the body, not even if you've had an epic adventure in the afterlife together with them to prove they are really definitely completely dead, and seen their very soul devoured unto oblivion. Then a year or so later, guess who is back.

Yeah. Unless we see the corpses on the page, I'll believe that Maximus and Lockjaw are only missing, presumed dead, until they turn up when the plot demands. I don't think even Marvel is about to kill off those two.

Sure, kill the Universal Inhumans because they don't have a lasting impact on the mythology. Kill Triton to establish personal stakes to the Royal Family. -appear- to kill Lockjaw and Maximus for tension...

but in the end, you know certain ones will likely be safe. Moon Girl, Ms. Marvel, Inferno (because they're using him in Marvel Rising), some of the more popular NuHumans... Quake until they no longer want to pretend they care about Agents of SHIELD...

I'm worried but not gonna lose my cool quite yet.

Well, I'm an X-Men fan and I don't really care one way or another. My only wish for inhumans is that I don't have to read about them in X-books. Other than the disastrous Dazzler book and the Red Annual, things have been looking up on that front..

Seeing as I constantly have to be reminded that Moon Girl exists, it really makes no difference to me one way or the other.

Ms Marvel OTOH is probably the best thing Marvel has published in ages.

Past that the only Inhumans anyone ever really cared about are the Royals and all of them but the dog have been tarnished by recent events.

I set out to avoid Wedding spoilers.
I muted the words BATMAN and WEDDING on Twitter, just didn't visit CBR or Newsarama since the news broke and avoided clicking on spoiler posts like the one on thus forum.

And then you blab about it on Monday in a post marked Inhumans. Is it unreasonable to expect posters on this community to respect spoilers for a book that nobody has even had a chance to read?

While I hate that they killed a dog, the fact that he's probably the only likable inhuman other than Ms. Marvel feels more like shock value than something particularly emotional. It'll probably be undone soon, maybe even in this series

Also, Medusa got her hair back by the end of that series.

The Eternals all died, which is weird because Feige said "Eternals is one of many many many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about to see if we believe in them enough to put them on a slate." Which everybody took to mean they were getting a film in Phase 4. Maybe they'll all be brought back somehow.
