Dark Knights: Metal #6
Jul. 7th, 2018 03:56 pm
So, aside from the scene between Batman and the Batman Who Laughs, no one's really posted anything from the conclusion to Dark Knights Metal. So, on the off chance that anyone else hasn't read it, and is wondering about the new status quo for DC's cosmos, I've taken it upon myself to post the last third of this crossover event to get everybody on the same page.
"Lost to history was a story...a story of heroes..."

Date: 2018-07-07 04:08 pm (UTC)Hawkman cannot hear the writer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Discontinuity's loosed upon the world
..
And what new status quo, come round at last,
Slouches towards publication to be born?

I mean half-alien half-Egyptian stapes!
I mean they predate Egyptian staples, they just forgot that.

... that was a Hawkman comic a moment ago, I'd swear.

The epilogue just feels, like so many do with event stories, tacked on and full of unnecessary sequel hooks.
There's only so many future plot ideas you can set up before it just gets irritating.
But it's almost worth it for the sight of Swamp Thing in a bowtie.

Date: 2018-07-10 12:32 pm (UTC)I feel like folks don't really understand the phrase and are just repeating it because they've heard it and know the context it's used in, but not really understand the actual phrase 'Hear, hear!' It's like an idiom you've heard your entire life without questioning ("wait, what exactly is a jib and why would I like the cut of it?"*)
* side note: it's a nautical idiom about a ship's staysail.
