True to his word, the Devil leaves him right here was left off -- buried in his grave. With only minutes to live, Nugent hears a noise and realizes that graverobbers are digging him up. As he is about to be released, he declares that he beat Satan at his own game.

Satan has even deeper pits for people who have made more deals and end up triply- or quadruply-damned.

...Hang on, the terms of the deal are "to take up life where you left off", but unless they buried (and embalmed!) this guy alive, he didn't 'leave off' living in the grave--he died when he got shot or had a heart attack or drank too much or whatever. He should be back at the moment of his actual death.

I'm just saying, this guy has a legit argument here.

Always read the fine print with a Contract with the Devil. I'm sure there's a clause that states they can't rewind time, just put you back in your body, in whatever state it's currently in.

Ahhh, good old Creepy comics. For those of us in the sixties who didn't know about EC, those comics were QUITE a change from the usual superhero fare.
