Because Bendis' attempt to differentiate them all by having them dye their hair was poorly conceived and missed the point of what made them unique amongst the dozen or so telepaths the X-men have hanging around?
I'm with you. Playing with the Cuckoo's individuality is a natural next step for them as characters. This feels like a step backwards, and hopefully that's not the case.
I don't know, I always thought the point of the Cuckoos was that they weren't truly identical. The first we see of them Quentin Quire had a crush specifically on Sophie, who dies trying to stop his stop his riot, because she was more inspired to heroism than the others. Later Esme broke away from the hivemind to join the Brotherhood.
Having the Cuckoos attempt to explore their individuality made sense as a character direction, but the way Bendis did it was superficial. They changed their appearances, but didn't really display any unique traits. Hair color isn't a personality.
(Plus, I was annoyed he called them the Stepford Sisters, losing Morrison's Village of the Damned reference.)
I haven’t been reading Marvel much, but they appear to have very subtle individual traits. One of them fistbumped back and lingered a little before leaving, and in the flashback it’s clear that they’re all having different reactions to the tv show.

Date: 2018-07-12 12:02 am (UTC)How do disagreements get resolved?
How do traumatic/happy events resolve themselves?
How does dating work?
Its a super interesting concept, and a cool design. I hope authors explore it.
