I really feel like they're dragging out the Evil Tommy plot line way too much. They set up some interesting ideas early on like Billy being Morphed in his civilian life, Zack's distrust of Tommy, Tommy's distrust of himself, backstory on Rita's goons, ect but that's all been dropped.
Heck, I remember early interviews where Higgins claimed that series would be about why the TV Rangers suddenly started trusting Tommy after he had been Rita's henchman but now it's obvious that this isn't even the same universe.
The fact that we’re on issue 28 and still haven’t had a Trini arc is my biggest complaint. You’ve got six rangers, each of them should have had an arc dedicated to them, and yet instead we have Tommy all the time
They did more with Trini in Kimberly's solo mini than they ever did in the team book. Her purpose on the team seems to be that she gets to be the emergency backup Billy when Billy isn't around.
Granted I think Jason is the least developed Ranger but that's always been true.
Mostly the focus is all Tommy all the time... and now it isn't even the right Tommy.
I want to say that, as him not being part of the tv series, Higgins has a lot more freedom with what he can do with Evil!Tommy...... but this stretches continuity so much that it is a moot point.
so like... is there no Good Tommy left? we know he killed the MM Tommy... or at least severely injured him (don't think there was a body, and even so...)
I can't buy them like, REALLY Killing off Tommy....
He definitely killed MMS1 Tommy. They said he was dead and then had a funeral and everything. And he killed Zeo Tommy. Not looking good for Turbo Tommy or Dino Thunder Tommy.
But he's obviously not going to stay dead. He'll somehow get better at the end of the story.
Still can't help but feel this would be a lot better were Tom Taylor writing it (yes, I did recently read Justice League/Power Rangers). The focus on Drakkon is really hurting the book. He is just not that interesting.
Definitely! And that Zack was pretty much the leas character was such a pleasant surprise (though he does seem to be really popular amongst Aussie fans, so...)
Been enjoying this a lot, even if most of the Ranger teams aren't ones I have any familiarity with anymore (I stopped seriously watching after Time Force).
Though I do notice they seem to be avoiding the Turbo Rangers and the Super-Megaforce era (I see a couple regular Megaforce Rangers though), the latter probably for the best, since their concept would clash with what's going on.

At least Pink and the JLI crossover were great.
