Marvel has allowed Carol Danvers to be written by the same person who wrote the prior series, the one that got canceled due to poor sales, probably because nobody else wants to touch the character these days.

Or did you mean what happened in the comic? Carol's father is a drunk because apparently except for Luke Cage there are no good Dads in Marvel Comics these days. Carol was responsible for her brother getting in an accident making her a terrible sister, and apparently her Dad talked to aliens. Or something.

At least her hair is longer, there is that. But I guess they had to finally let that happen so she looks more like Brie Larsen.

Are we going to find out that Carol meeting up with "Walter Lawson" wasn't the coincidence we all thought it was? Her father somehow arranged it with the Kree?

Well, this is a Marvel Comic Book. Stranger things have happened.

Did they ever get rid of Carol's post-Rogue "no emotional connection to my memories" thing? Because I can't reconcile this portrayal of her with that element of her history.

Logically, the emotionally connection must have come back. Maybe it took longer due to Carol's Kree-altered mind. Carol's body being altered by the Psyche Magnitron device is (supposedly) why Rogue kept Carol's powers and memories (and a seperate personality sometimes) for so long.

Her emotional link to her memories was restored by the Stranger, back in 1994, in the "Starblast" event.

On the other hand, I have to admit, that is totally true to life. It's dumb, but then, that never stops anyone.

I was wondering why Carol, of all people, would need a vice and a hammer to pry something open. I mean, her fingernails would be more precise to use, and she should be able to apply more shearing force with them than that table the vice is clamped to can withstand.
