This was such an odd time with Marvel and the x-men though. Looking at it in a retrospect, its almost like they took a vertigo approach to the X-Men and ONLY the X-Men. Between this, Morrison's New X-Men, and even more esoteric titles like "The Brotherhood", Igor Kordeys Cable and Soldier X books, David Hines District X, Steven Grants X-Man run, the X-men were in a really experimental phase.
