Kim runs outside where she runs into Baines. He has a shotgun but the butcher cuts it in half with his chainsaw.

As you can probably tell the 'butcher' looks a lot like R. Lee Ermey who played the role of Sheriff Hoyt in the 2003 film. I asked Abnett on Facebook about this and he told me that the character was intended to be Hoyt's brother and had the series gone on longer he would have explored more about the family tree and who else was on there.

One of the probable reasons why there was a prequel to the remake as opposed to a sequel was because A.) Leatherface lost his arm and B.) Ermey wouldn't be able to return. I think this comic shows that both of those things didn't have to be an issue.
