Gah, literally posted this the second after this showed up.

For the record, Gunn is the producer, but not only is his brother and cousin writing it and his friend is directing it, he announced six months ago, “About a year ago my brother Brian, my cousin Mark, director David Yarovesky, producer Simon Hatt and I started coming up with an idea for a horror film that excited me in a way nothing outside of Guardianshas in years – it was personal, and different, and perfectly suited for our times. And, yes, terrifying.” So needless to say, Gunn played a large role in this.

So THIS was the project that was suppose to be unveiled at SDCC this year, before the ComicGaters struck. Horror is not my think but...interesting none the less.

Is this a first big screen take on the "but what if the Kents didn't manage to make a good person out of an alien" thing?

That, with a mixture of "What if Superman was part of the Cthulhu Mythos?"

Heh, I remember when that symbol got shown everyone thought he was adapting Morrison's Nameless. A few people joked it was a Berserk movie.

Well hopefully this'll be a take on evil superman that we've already haven't seen in comics.

I mean, to be fair, James Gunn was part of the early hype for Nameless, so it was possible.

Hmm. Interesting and spooky.

However, that bit with the fork just reminds of that one time that Silver Age Superman ate a spoon so Lois Lane couldn't get his fingerprints off it to prove that he was really Clark Kent. Just, nom nom spoon. And then he rearranged the letters in the alphabet soup so they spelled I love you Lois at superspeed, and flew off chuckling to himself about how she'd never be able to be sure whether it was just a coincidence.
