So... how many times have Namor flipped on humanity now? "No more friends of the surface"? So I guess the X-Men and Susan Storm are not inviting him for their Holiday parties... and why is sporting an DC Aquaman outfit? I mean, I see and I think of DCU Aquaman for some reason...
Its really the same problem you have with Magneto where he will have stretches where he grows as a character and becomes one of the good guys, but then a new writer will come along and be like "Welp, we need a villain, MAGNETO IS A MUTANT SUPREMACIST TERRORIST AGAIN."
Honestly that's a problem with comics in general, where they just keep resetting characters when new writers take over, nothing stays beyond the very core basis of a character. So it probably helps to just focus on the current and maybe the most recent arc.
Im quite excited Aaron is doing his own vampire arc in Avengers and making Blade a member. I'm confident it would be better than the last vampire arc on X-men Curse of the Mutants, didnt like it that much. Im praying Dracula will go back to his old Gene Colan black hair facial hair tuxedo look and not the white long ponytail red armor Legacy of kain look that he been appearing more recently. but if they do a combination of the 2. sure keep the red armor but have his hair black with facial hair.
"You get a Star Brand, and YOU get a Star Brand, and YOOOOOUUUU get a Star Brand!"
(and since this is Jason Aaron writing, he'll probably ignore that bit about what happens when you get multiple Star Brands in a room Weisman established. Alas, that there shall be no sweaty, confused tumble.)
Isn't that one of Jason Aaron's M.O.'s? He introduced a ton of Ghost Riders in his series, and he looks to be on the same path here with the Star Brands.
So, is it now Marvel's standard operating procedure, when creating a new Grim / Terrible / Dark Future, to fill it entirely with mashed-up character concepts?
Something about Phoenix!Wolverine just makes me so very tired. Like, I just want to like Wolverine. I want Wolverine to be a cool character who I can enjoy reading about, but everything Marvel wants to do with him is just the absolute worst. I just want some semi-grounded Wolverine stuff with emotional realism, is that too much to ask?
