Our heroes have been captured by Jabba the Hut, with Chewbacca, Luke and Han about to be thrown to into the sarlacc. After refusing to beg for mercy, Jabba commands they be thrown in. But R2-D2 working as serving droid, fires something towards the skiff.
With this Luke and Lando starts fighting off the skiff guards, also working to free Chewie and Han.
The deck gun of Jabba's sail-barge begin firing on the skiff. Luke is able to jump over to the barge and begins fighting the goons there.
Leia is found and freed by R2. She is able to take control of the deck gun and destroy the ships mast and deck.
Meanwhile above the moon of Endor, the Emperor is arriving to oversee the construction of the second Death Star.
Meanwhile Luke has returned to Dagohba to meet with Yoda. He confirms that Darth Vader is indeed Luke's father.
So yeah, in this version Yoda doesn't die. They do say he'll die soon, but we don't see him die onscreen.
