Did any of the villains ever suggest *not* turning the Earth into a barren wasteland? Kind of seems like even the people in charge have a much lower standard of living.
I keep wishing some of these would explore the rest of the world beyond America. I like to think Mandarin got China and turned it into a paradise just to show up the others.
I like that idea. Perhaps America is only a wasteland because the Red Skull got it, and he's just the sort of evil asshole who would run a nation into the ground on purpose.
Think Old Man Logan had a mention that the rest of the world was in worse shape than America. But this requires the Red Skull to be taken at his word. And, y'know, raises further questions.
Knowing Britain, the supervillains probably decided to just avoid the whole place entirely. Britain went entirely untouched and never noticed, but that's only because decades later, they're still arguing over You-Know-What.
Somehow oddly fitting that the Wrecking Crew end up being taken out by some pack of misfits from beyond the stars who are also long past their own prime.
Ya know, while I know Gamora was aiming for sadistic, I can't help but think that her actions actually spared Thunderball in the long run.
I mean, those people are plenty angry, but none are strong enough to hurt him. And their attempts to do so will likely dislodge the blades sooner than later.
I can't help but wondering what sort of tribute Doom is trying to extract from these people. It seems like if they have some sort of specific resource he wanted, he'd have a bit more of a systematic set up then "Send in the Wrecking Crew once a month," and if not, he'd probably be content with them erecting the occasional statue and singing "Praise Doom, from whom all blessings flow, Richards is a wretched dolt," every morning.
