OT But this reminds me of a Batman prose story where the Joker kidnapped an artist and the artist tricked the Joker into giving him enough ink to paint a Bat-symbol on the window of his prison, attracting Batman to rescue him and trap the Joker. It was in an actual published anthology of Batman stories, but I can remember literally nothing more than that.
This is actually the only issue of this series I owned at some point....kinda. Once upon a time I had the "Greatest Joker Stories ever told" which was an omnibus of Joker stories, mainly from the Gold and Silver age with a few Bronze age ones thrown in for good measure (In particular The Joker's five way revenge and The Laughing fish) This was the issue of the Joker's ongoing they included.
Interestingly this is also the comic that introduced me to the Creeper. Which, considering he spends most of the issue with amnesia, is probably not the best introduction to the guy, at least compared to the BTAS Creeper.
Also, missing from this scan is the scene where the Cashews creator is thinking to himself how much he's grown to hate his creation and his job of having to be cute and whimsical seven days a week. I don't know if that was a thing with the real Charles Schutlz, but considering how tame, toothless and banal a lot of newspaper comic strips can be, I can see why some people may grip with that. It also explains why the guy is happy with Joker having him draw him kicking Not Charley Brown.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
