Doug Thompson ans Snowbird, Terry Long and Wonder Girl... Marrying a super heroine and having a kid with her might not be the brightest thing to do.

Just having a kid in comics tends to be bad juju. Reed and Sue Richards got around the worst of it by having a living plot device as their firstborn, and so far Tigra seems to have managed to keep hers hidden away from drama. But it seems like many comic writers have never met a baby/child they didn't want to kill off, retcon out of existence, or SOAS into an adult possibly villainous version of themselves.

There is so much bonkers stuff in any given issue of Alpha Flight...

Walter Langkoswki's spirit hijacking the comatose form of a shrunken Smart Alec (who winds up squished in the process) before possessing Box before taking over the soulless body of Snowbird and winding up as one of comics' earliest transgender (even if unwittingly) heroes. (Is transgender even the right term when it's not your choice? Yeesh.)

Shaman (pardon me, Talisman) being a jerk and poofing off... I loved that costume though. Great character, usually a lackluster execution though. I'd love to see him done right by an author who could really dig into the culture and belief system.

Puck. I dunno about you, but short and hairy is kinda hot. Heather never appreciated what she could have had. :)

Bill Mantlo remains one of the greatest pinch-hitters of the Marvel stable for his ability to write interesting stories... and yet some of them were pretty awful. :)

I never liked that design for Box. It looks like his lower jaw was punched-out by the Hulk, and they never took the time to repair it.

Also, I know I'm just nitpicking here, but I never understood how Walter was able to transfer his soul from Box to SnowSquash. And it was never explained in the comic either.

I'm not a fan of that design either, I much prefer Madison Jeffries version of the suit.

I liked the Wanda run better than regular Walter. I have no real reason why, I just kinda do.

In hindsight, i do wish they would have explored what it all meant for his gender identity.

Yeah. Given the time period they didn't do as bad a job as they might have, but it was a bit of a lost opportunity on that front.
