I've heard people call this the worst-drawn issue of this particular run of Batman Adventures, and maybe it is, but the script is firing on so many cylinders I just can't care. Ty Templeton is possibly the only writer who can do Joker/Harley even better than Dini himself.

I don't think I'd even agree it's the worst drawn, well, it might be, but it's not objectively bad, and as you say, the story is excellent.

He's also got the rhythm of the dialogue down pat. You can HEAR "HARLEY!!! Daddy needs the keys NOW!" in Mark Hamill's slightly panicking Joker voice.
