Probably too early to tell. But I think I am too used to Peter and MJ having a daughter that having a son feels... weird.

And I would love a story about Ben, the younger brother of Mayday. but I am not particularly interested in the story of Ben, the third and blandest of MJ and peter's firstborns.

ETA: yes, I am aware Annie technically is not a firstborn because MJ lost Mayday in a miscarriage in that universe. you get my point.

They really need to get it through their thick skulls that Elseworlds and AUs and Relaunches need to have their own name omg.

It's frustrating as hell when you are looking for a particular story, and you get a list of 40 titles that are all like
Hero (2015-2019)
Hero (2005-2014)
Hero (1998-2004)
Hero (1990-1997) etc etc

I understand the importance of brand recognition, but good Lord, at least use subtitles or longer titles that include the key word. This one should have been Son Of Spider-Man.

Officially call it JJ Abrams' Spider-man. It's what everybody else will call it.

That said, Aaron's Thor saga has gone through God of Thunder, Mighty, Unworthy, Thors, Thor, Mighty (again?), King and is one long story.

Just call it Jason Aaron's Thor.

Sara Pichelli is so horribly wasted on this pointless, derivative, vanity project. I guess it's a small mercy that this is clearly outside of regular continuity so it's unlikely to affect much. I am positively oozing contempt.

Also not a huge fan of the fact that this is ripping off Renew Your Vows and Spider-Girl but doing so while fridging Mary Jane and swapping a son in for a daughter. Seems like maybe not great gender dynamics.

For what it's worth, while I normally 100% agree with you, I would give this one individual very specific instance a pass.

Because there are a lot of SM AU stories with their kids, and in all of them except this one, MJ is alive and the spotlight is on their daughter. The one with Mayday as Spider-girl, the one where the characters age over the decades, the one where they have Annie.

So, this one here is the exception to the rule. YMMV.
