Pepper went to talk to Tony.

Tony didn't allay her worries.





Rhodey went to go get the War Machine suit (which, he figured, had comm capabilities Tony couldn't affect).



Pepper met up with Dr. Serrano, the in-house psychologist.

Suddenly, Stark Industries' " total lockdown " protocol kicked in.



" Free of the meat. "

Rhodey made his way up the elevator shaft, on a ladder against a wall.

Elevator doors opened above him.

" Rhodey, that you down there? "

Tony flew in, landing on the elevator cab below.

" We need to talk. "



(Rhodey's resourceful, and Tony's languid.)



" Gone where..? "



(The coloring's work on the people in the last panel enhances Tony's use of " meat. ")

Prometheus getting his liver pecked out, for daring to bring humans the gift of Fire from Olympus?

Well, right, there's that- but in that case Prometheus was being punished by the gods- the old status quo, whereas nuTony's closer to being the gift of fire himself. So the bridge here is Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus, with nuTony as meat-Tony's rebellious creation.

Boy, I knew from the scans of the first issue that this was headed in a "transhumanism is bad" direction, but cyber-Tony really isn't being subtle at all.
