"DIMARTINO:The enthusiasm with which the finale and Turf Wars has been received has been humbling, to say the least. I’ve always intellectually known that diversity in media is important, but after hearing so many personal stories about how Korra and Asami’s relationship has inspired young adults to come out to their friends and family or let them know they aren’t alone, I feel that truth on a much deeper, emotional level. It reaffirms for me the undeniable power stories, and the media can have in our culture. When used in an affirmative way, a character or story can literally change a person’s life."

(23 and two thirds out of 71 pages)

Korra and Asami meet a spirit who's angry about the new Spirit Portal, who ends up launching them into the air.

Oh look, we fans managed to correctly work out when they developed feelings for one another.

Korra takes them to the other Spirit Portals, so they can visit her parents at the South Pole.

Keum owns the land around the Spirit Portal, and wants to built an amusement park, offering tours of the Spirit World.

Korra goes into the Avatar State to scare off Keum and his workers.

The triad's fight is interrupted by the Republic City Police, causing both groups to retreat. Minor show character Two Toed Ping is arrested and taken in for questioning.

Meanwhile Korra's helping at the Evacuee Camp. Zhu Li's been managing the camp, while President Raiko is more interested in securing his reelection. As a result he's not very popular.

Raiko isn't willing to protect the Spirit Portal, saying that the government needs to focus its money on repairing the city's infrastructure.

At Air Temple Island, Kya comes to talk to Korra and Asami.

The group gets a message from Jinora, via astral projection. The Triple Threat Triad is attacking the Airbenders at the Spirit Portal.

They start fighting Tokuga, when the Spirits appear.

The triad is beaten and forced to flee.

I really liked this chapter, but I found the rest of the arc boring, and I found the following arc to be dealing with the threat of totalitarian forces seizing power in democratic elections in a really immature way. I remember the chapter caused a wank among Western yuri fandom, because some fangirls didn’t like that there was a presumably gay male Airbender couple shown in one picture.
