Yeah, we've seen women successfully pretend to be men while wearing superhero costumes before. Heck, Mattie made for a pretty convincing Spider-Man back in the day.

Beck of all people should know how to make this look convincing so I can only assume this is intentional.

This is clearly just a fetish thing. At this point he's be far from the first member of the Sinister Six with an weird sexual fixation on Spider-Man.

This is definitely a fetish thing. The writer wanted "Mary Jane is sexy Spider-Man", and wrote backward from there.
