In 1940s Paris, he preyed on those looking to escape the Nazi occupation.
Two came to him.
He received them, over tea.
" That's a lovely necklace you're wearing, Madame. "
Elsewhere, a father and son were interrupted by the Gestapo.
" I demand you release my husband! You have taken a perfectly innocent man! "
Jodkum, the one who'd pulled rank, brushed her aside.
" Wait!
" I said wait! I have money! Fifty thousand francs.. "
" Your money is no good to us. " said the officer pulling her away.
" .. you're going to help me bring down the Resistance, Yvan Dreyfus. "
Yvan became Jodkum's stalking-horse, tracing a path through a Resistance network..
.. to an end.
The next day, Petiot's neighbors noticed a fire in his house.
When the authorities came, they learned that Petiot'd left the night before, and hadn't returned since.
They also learned what was in Petiot's basement.
The two arrived on the scene..
.. and looked upon Petiot's work.
