I mean, getting automatically resurrected doesn't really ensure that you won't be forgotten. Besides, I can't imagine this whole Krakoa arc is going to last as the status quo for too long given how much nostalgia writers have for the more archetypical X-men stuff.
I think it's more about being part of the X-franchise rather than the resurrection bit. Well, resurrection via the current flavor of the month. X-characters who've had their own books hardly ever (or just ever?) die for good.
I like Kamala's gentle transition to "the elder of the youngs," and the up-to-the-minute HoXPoX parody was fun. But for the most part, this series went through a lot of the same beats as the end of the previous one, only less effectively and with a weirdly sexualized vibe (right up to the closing line).
Like, I'm okay with Gwenpool developing a sex life, but the desperate "I'MONNA FUCK REED RICHARDS, HOW D'Y'LIKE ME NOWWW" routine is more off-putting than I think Leah realizes. "It's funny because she must prostitute herself with heroes she's not really attracted to, or die!"
I did appreciate the nods to the fact that characters are never gonna be quite the same when their creative teams change. If the series had leaned into that a bit more, it might've been for the better.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
