Leaving aside all the other Bendis-isms, what really rings false here is Superman insisting that a kid be saved because he's good. Life is life, and he should just be asking for them to live because they are people, full stop.
Mark Shaw keeps saying "sooooooo" like he's a teenage girl, and Superman emphasizing that this one kid deserves to live because he's not bratty is definitely the worst thing here.
I sort of agree, but he's trying to convince someone who's in the middle of murdering him to not do that and to save someone else. A little more encouragement to do so seems like a valid choice.
I'm really digging the panel where Connor asks Supes if HE'S ok. It rarely occurs to me that sometimes Clark needs someone to check in on him, instead of everybody relying on him to make them feel better.
