Marvel sure does hate teen heroes. I mean, I know I've said death is (more) meaningless in this era of X-Men but this is the most excessive thing I've seen since DC had a woman raped, killed, and set on fire.
It's a good thing that Ginny's willingly working with Spiral and Mojo, otherwise she might have a valid point about rejecting Genosha. It's a real good thing.
... and, uh, just checking here, but... No-one else finding the treatment of Wind Dancer here kind of creepy at best? I'm guessing it is probably The Whole Point of this story, but all the same... bringing a "teenaged" (or whatever age the New X-Kids are supposed to be these days) character from obscurity to kill her in a horrifically violent way, then mutilate her corpse. That ain't right...
(Also apparently in this age of Fresh New Ideas for the X-Men, they're still doing horrible things to the New X-Men cast. Which is both terrible and unimaginative.)
... also also, Storm having casual drinks and stories with Mystique? Um. Alright.
Well she does still have a point, and she doesn’t exactly get debunked or disproven. It’s not the most substantive critique, but it’s still valid.
Yeah it’s creepy, that’s the point. Shatterstar’s whole data page is about how creepy and unpleasant it is. However, I don’t think the book itself is approaching this in a creepy way, it’s not being lurid or prurient about this character’s suffering. It’s maybe being flippant, but the data page pointedly undercuts that.
It is annoying to see favourite characters still being brought back only to suffer horribly, but at least the Krakoan era means that those characters do end up alive at the end and probably with a bit of character development. Even the fate of Rockslide in X of Swords leaves us asking the question of “What’s the deal with New Rockslide?” as much as mourning him.
I think characters having weirdly buried their old grudges is par for the course now. It’s still a bit weird though.
I don't think they even need the body (although they might take it on the general principle that Mojo shouldn't have nice things, he'll only do something awful), just solid confirmation that she is in fact dead.
Of course, reviving her would probably also entail dealing with whatever her situation was that lead her to think "Kill myself on livestream," was a good way to spend her time, but that might be outside of X-Factor's remit.
I’m really surprised Gwenpool of all characters would be okay with Krakoa. Being a mutant just increases the chances you’ll get forgotten and randomly slaughtered one day even in this current era, and you’d think she’d be worried if they find out she’s not a real mutant when you consider how they treat Scarlet Witch, as well as pushing anti-human rhetoric in general. There’s also the matter of her, a woman of general privilege, appropriating a safe space (as safe as this deathtrap can be, anyway) for stand-ins for the oppressed to escape her own personal issues.
It's immortality and free love island, so long as you're in the in-group, what's not to like? Even if she weren't a mutant, the worse they can do is throw her out, given their whole deal with not killing humans.
Mutants always have at least someone who fondly remembers them, and more importantly, Leah Williams gets to keep writing Gwenpool if she's on Krakoa, so she's safer from oblivion than someone like, say, Slapstick. As to whether or not she's a real mutant/appropriative, in-universe that would only be an issue if she weren't a comedy character, and even then it being an issue would mean Gwenpool must be back in a major role again, so it's a win either way.
I might just be biased because I don’t like Krakoa and I didn’t like Leah Williams’ take on Gwenpool, so I don’t like the idea of Gwenpool (especially Leah Williams’ Gwenpool) on Krakoa. That said, that still rubs me the wrong way for the reasons I’ve mentioned above.

... I guess?
Yeah, I have no idea. If they're going to do this deep a cut then I demand they bring back Landscape.
