Not sure this actually means Sins Past is still with us. Could just as easily be Norman fetishizing his one big career-defining moment.

He did but it's less "falling to his death" and more leaving him to deal with Sin-Eater on his own.

It's funny; I attribute that line more tothe Joker, but it works so much better for Norm here.

Another typical Nick Spencer book: a really interesting story brought down by awful pacing. The book was 92 pages, and not much really happened. He could have told the same story in about 10 - 15 pages. He had the same issue with Morning Glories, padding the book with a lot of unnecessary exposition and plot twists that had little impact or just went nowhere. One good thing about this run on Spider-Man is that it won't end abruptly like MG and leave fans waiting eternally. Even if Spencer left the book tomorrow, someone else would finish the hanging storylines. So much of what he does is really fantastic (Boomerang!), but he really needs an editor that isn't afraid to pare down his excesses.

Did he ever finish Morning Glories? I was really into it at first but the schedule was terrible even by Image standards.

I haven't read it but from what I heard he ended it on a 'season finale' of sorts.

At this point there's really only one Norman Osborn story I actually want to see.

Someone reminds Miles Warren that the man who killed Gwen is still alive. An army of Spider-Clones with tire irons show up at the Goblin's front door.

Peter, Harry, and everyone else whose life has been ruined by Norman never have to deal with him again.

Genuinely shocked that Spencer would go for the veiled references to Sins Past rather than sticking to The Night Gwen Stacy Died, given how widely Sins Past is loathed.

Also, I know it's an inevitability with her being in the 616, but I really think that having Spider-Gwen specifically interact with and address every unfortunate thing that happened to the original Gwen Stacy is the wrong thing to do with her. Yes, the appeal of the character was in sort of reclaiming Gwen Stacy, but I think that's best done by just moving her forward as thing new thing rather than dredging up the past.

I hope this is a subtle indication that Spencer is planning on revisiting Sins Past and trying to rehabilitate it the way Aaron did with X-Men's The Draco by bringing back Azazel. It would be the cherry on top for my low estimation of his work on this series.

I feel like it's just ambiguous enough that you can ignore Sins Past if you want to, but only just; it's really treading that line.

Still, I can imagine "happier times" for him just as easily meaning throwing her off a bridge.

I read it the same way. He's just generally trolling her. What he's trolling her about is up to interpretation.

One of these days he's going to pull this on one of the less nice Spiders and end up with the Mark of Kaine.

So of course we get literally every spider person ever except for Ben and Kaine.

The Joker was like this about killing Robin before Jason returned. He would get angry if someone else "killed" Robin because killing Robin is HIS thing.

In JOKER: LAST LAUGH he was angry when it seemed Killer Croc had killed Tim Drake. "I was going for the hat trick!"

WAR CRIMES had the Joker angry at Black Mask for killing Stephanie Brown. "No matter how many Robins I kill, I'll always be one behind!"
