This feels like those Star Trek: TNG scripts where they have [sci-fi technobabble] on the page instead of lines except here its [batman-who-laughs reveals himself and explains how he is now winning again]

Metal was the same way. Every issue the heroes find a way to stop the bad guys BUT WAIT NOPE the bad guys actually planned for the good guys to do that and now the bad guys are even more OP. Until the very last issue when friendship wins the day.

That sounds like a knock against it, and I guess it is, but I do legitimately like Metal and Death Metal. Snyder and Capullo are fantastic together. But I don't know many more power-ups Batman Who Laughs can get before he literally just becomes the editor-in-chief at DC comics.

I'm still not a fan of the blatantly metatextual stuff going on tin this series, which seems both self-important and po-faced, but someone other than Johns getting their mitts on Superman Prime can only be a good thing, and if this ends up with horrible nostalgia-poisoned Superman-Prime fighting tryhard Darkest Knight, that would actually be kind of fun.
