I don't think I can buy the "PEOPLE WILL PANIC!!!" excuse anymore.

Climate change and Coronavirus have shown pretty clearly that 1/3 of people will be "lol hoax" and 1/3 will be "I guess that's bad but do we really have to be inconvenienced to address it?"

That got addressed in Secret Wars with the Illumanti called out by Blue Mavel, Shuri and scores of other super-geniuses who pointed out they had perfectly good ideas that could have stopped this that Reed or Tony never even considered "but noooooo, you guys think only you have all the answers."

It's early day yet, maybe it'll turn out their more complicated characters, than they initially appear?

I was thinking that, especially the woman narrating, who was president "a lifetime ago." But maybe superpowers come with eternal youth here.

I'd be more interested if they all looked old enough to be ex-presidents. It would sell the hook a lot better and make this more immediately distinct.
