I want to be excited about X-Factor, New Mutants and of course Sword. All those look good. But the X-office killed one of my faves again and unless they bring him back, everything will have a bitter taste.

Strange Academy enters in a new arc. That's good news, I really thought it would be cancelled at #6.

Can I just say that it bugs me that the High Republic era was apparently just 200 years before the Star Wars films. It seems a bit too close somehow.

I get what they are going for, the idea that this is the end of the Republic's glory days when the rot the Sith have been sowing really starts accelerating it's down fall but I kind of think they missed the boat with the name and description.

This sounds like it should be much further back based on the description.

I get that they aren't keepign the old 25,000 year time line of the old Expanded Universe/legends but this seems really really short time wise ago for the Golden age of the Jedi.

If they'd just caused it the Golden age of the Republic.

Really looking forward to seeing the U-Foes show up in Immortal Hulk, I’ve loved the way that book reinvents characters and the weird, knockoff Fantastic Four crooks have always been such a weird and fun idea.

It’s been like this for ages, but Marvel has really gone all in on the Thunderbolts being their Suicide Squad, huh? I guess I get that the original premise can’t be repeated, but it’s not a terribly imaginative evolution.

I’ve heard to Aaron’s Avenger is really fun, if a little weightless, but I really don’t care for the way he’s used the Phoenix in the past few years. It used to be very specifically connected to Jean and then Rachel Grey, with stories about empowerment and personal agency (more than one essay has been written about feminist readings of the Dark Phoenix Saga) and now it’s just being treated as the cosmic version of the symbiote and slapped on any character, particularly men, for a cool accoutrement. I mean Aaron had Incredibly Old Man Logan bonded with it in King Thor. The Phoenix Force went for a specific and meaningful thing to just another toy for writers to bash around.

I'm not really interested in yet another Star Wars prequel series, it is kinda admitting that Disney have still not worked out how to untangle the TLJ fustercluck and move forward yet [although I did like the "Resistance" cartoon]. And I just feel burned out on the mainstream Marvel stuff due to the ongoing Krakoa trashfire. I'd actually welcome a DC style "Crisis on Infinite Earths" storyline to fix that one.

I suppose to get the Yoda and Maz Kanata cameos going, right? Yeah, Star Wars writers lately have had terrible concepts of scale; whether it be time or space, even George Lucas had a better grasp of scale than some of the more recent SW writers.

Mind you, to me Star Wars comics peaked with Han Solo teaming up with Sea Dragon Riders. so I'm probably [for definite] not in the target audience here.

i am sorry. no one but jean or rachel should wield the phoenix.... let alone a MAN! one thing i loved about the phonex is that it was a symbol of female power. good or bad, it was associate with that. (woman go crazy with power because of emotion is a part of the bad, woman masters her power and achieves her fullest potential was part of the good)... i don;t want another man to get the power....
