So what, exactly, distinguishes Solem from the other unstoppable super-edgy and extreme murder machines out there?
Is it the sarcasm? The snide sense of humour? The shirtlessness?
Is he somehow more x-treme than the competition?

... okay, it is unfair to judge a character just as they're starting out. There's plenty of time for him to change, or grow, or develop.
Let's see what he's like in five years.

I think part of the confusion is that dude has been in Arakko for thousands of years before anyone thinks Adamantium was around.

So for "Loki to Wolverine's Thor," in terms of "Iconic villain, long associated with," I would, as I mentioned, probably go with Sabretooth. In terms of "Kind of brother who hates him," I suppose you could bring back Dog.

I guess there might be an opening for "Trickster/manipulator to Logan's primarily physical threat."

Or "Villain who will eventually do a complex heel-face turn that it probably wouldn't be fair to put down entirely to Tom Hiddleston's cheekbones."

On Krakoa’s side: Magik wields the Soulsword, Wolverine wields Muramasa, Storm wields the Skybreaker, Doug wields Warlock, kid Cable wields the Light of Galador, Betsy Braddock wields the Starlight Sword, Brian Braddock wields the Sword of Might, • --Å-- • wields the Scarab and Gorgon (X-Men Gorgon, not Inhuman Gorgon) dual wields the Godkiller and the Grasscutter.

On Arrako’s side: Solem also wields Muramasa, White Sword wields Purity,
War wields Vermilion, Death wields the Black Bone of Amduat, Isca the Unbeaten wields Mercy, Pogg Ur-Pogg wields himself, Redroot wields Alluvium, Summoner wields Colony, Bei wields Seducer and Annihilation wields the Twilight Sword.

Since there’s only nine people on Krakoa’s side instead of ten, there’s speculation about another swordbearer coming into play.
