What was up with their character design around then? Suddenly everyone had to look different and I don't think *any* of the changes from that era stuck around in the slightest.
No one has a flashback arc to the S&M Mortal Thor days for example. Or this Dr. Strange, either, as far as I know.
The contrast between that cover and the interiors is not a kind one. This looks so much like a series trying to take cues from Sandman and just not being up to the task, it's a little embarrassing.
Mike Dringenberg, according to the wiki, so they did literally get the guy from Sandman.
The interiors are from Marie Severin, a Marvel stalwart who seems to have been done an utter disservice by her collaborators and a story totally out of step with her skillset.
Yea I was thinking that was Dringenberg. Glad to know I was right.
Yea this whole story feels like its trying to do the Vertigo thing pretty hard. I feel for the interior artist who - that is totally not their wheelhouse.
