#2'd ended on Cecily Bain and her childe (by declaration, not by actually having sired her) Alejandra being notified that there were hunters.

#3 opened with them at the scene of the hunters' work, in the sewer.

Cecily chattered with Erin, who was supervising the Masquerade-maintaining cleanup of the dead vamps.

Alejandra pocketed the flash drive and left with Cecily.

Erin'd tasked the both of them with going after the hunters.

Back at Cecily's place, Alejandra was able to get the drive working with her self-appointed mentor figure's eleven-years-old laptop.

She found that it was " Lots and lots of numbers. "

Cecily got a call from her Camarilla associate Calder, who'd been called in to use the " frontier doctor " skills he'd picked up in his pre-Embrace life.

He'd been looking at the bodies: " There are pieces missing. Organs. Whole lobes of the brain. "

Cecily was inspired to a realization.

She ended the call, then grabbed Alejandra: " Come on. I know where the next victim is.

" If we're lucky, he's already dead, because he's not gonna be happy to see me. "

" Why? "

(Issue #1'd established Cecily's " help maintain the Masquerade " role in Minneapolis-St. Paul vampire society with her killing Cordell's human girlfriend, because he'd revealed his vampiric nature to her.

Cordell's punishment was a front row seat to her murder - he didn't get anything else, because how he kept the Prince's books balanced made him worth sparing.)

Cecily and Alejandra were watching them from above, through a skylight window.

Cecily leapt through the window, landing amongst the Wolves in a shower of glass.

Being Embraced had given her ' [c]omic-book-superhero [strength] ' and exceptional speed: ' Sometimes, for me, time stands still. '

She was going through the Wolves, Alejandra behind her, when one of them got his hooks into Cordell.

" Oh yes. The accountant is a mesmerist. Just what the doctor ordered.

" Let's take it for a spin, shall we? "

The Wolf had her in Cordell's borrowed power: " Obey. "

The Wolf bore down on Alejandra's mind.

SHLUK went the weapon, and " ght " went the Wolf.

" Nice work, Ali. Don't drink him. "

" I won't. Oh God. I definitely won't. "

(The dead Nosferatu vamps from the beginning were Cordell's customers in a deal from issue #2 - he'd sold them the " numbers " Ali'd found on that stick drive, financial records indicating the moves Prince Samantha was making to protect herself against the coup threatening her rule.

The Wolves got them before they could profit off the information.

Cordell's motive was revenge for his punishment.)

Later, Cecily (with Ali in tow) was updating Calder on how things'd played out.

" First his girlfriend, then he's unlucky enough to walk by some body hackers while they're knee deep in sewer rat.

Cecily turned to Calder.

' Calder has always used his blood spells to help me when I asked.

' Always risked his sanity so I could accomplish my tasks as the Prince's " dirty boot ". '

Calder's dive was interrupted: " Primogen Wendt! You're needed now! The unspeakable has occurred! "

' Of course. ' thought Cecily. ' Because of my luck..
