This is actually a really neat way to introduce a new character in to the mix in a way that allows her to feel important from the start and thus make it easier to have her play that meaningful role in the team going forward.
Legitimately this might be one of my favorite big events in a while. So far, that is.
I can definitely see why. No BS world changing forever stuff, lower key feel event while still feeling big within the story itself, no heroes vs. heroes as far as I've seen (might have missed something), good characters, and not a bad set up.
Marz described this event as a " superhero story ", like there's an inherent definition of that beyond " story with superhero ", so you can't fault it for seeming rote - and it's not bad because of that.
But you also look at pages like Summer with the Titans, and you wish that he and Lanning'd remembered that panel-to-panel progression doesn't have to obviously feel like " This happened, then this happened, then this happened.. "
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
