It's " pull off a big robbery while everyone's distracted by an event ", where the event is kaiju.

The man with the plan's Marco, outlining his idea to people whose buy-in he wants.

' I could see by the look in their eyes I had convinced them- '





Marco revealed the key to his brilliant plan.



Blackie, who'd been invited to back the job, stepped in to excoriate Marco.

" .. your reputation is a loser, but do they know the specific reason you fail each time? 'Cause they deserve to. "

" No. "

" Then I'll tell them. "



Blackie summed up with Marco's worst failing.



The pitch meeting dispersed, Marco unsuccessful.

Later, there was a kaiju event.



Mujara made landfall.



Blackie got a message, after that.



(That guy catches nicknames like " broken mirror " and " black cat " because he's got a reputation as a jinx.)

This looks very interesting.
I wonder how it'll go wrong. Some sort of Mecha-Godzilla like government creation, being sent in to fight the monster? There's a lot of options.

The kaiju's an undercover cop.

The Kaiju just happens to be in rut this year and turns territorial.

Note that they specify that the kaiju is a "she". And she's a Gamera-type giant turtle.
Why do turtles come up onto land?
To lay their eggs, of course. So territoriality is one option. Or baby kaiju running all over the place. Or any number of shady organizations wanting the eggs for themselves and getting in the way.
AS with any heist story, the interesting part of the plot is how it goes wrong and what happens next.

I love the look on Not Gamera's face when that one asshole takes a selfie with them.

That's a face that says "When I get home I'm untagging myself from that photo."
