I really hate the "destined hero/bloodline" trope, particularly in superhero comics. Is Carnage any more interesting because his great-great-great-etc. grandpa had ties to Knull? Is Plague any more interesting because Carnage is his descendant? It just makes the universe feel small and removes the agency of characters on a cosmic scale. Cletus had some cosmic destiny to become a serial killer, so his bad life choices lose their impact.
So... you're some huge, cosmic evil God and the person who killed the most in your name is a a human serial killer? How high could his body count actually have been? the hundreds? Maybe thousands (but given the time/place this seems unlikely)?
Knull never had any followers who wiped out entire planets/galaxies? Every other cosmic anything seems to have done that.

When a serial killer was punished for their actions.
Truly the world has wronged them gravely by not letting them murder innocent people for fun
