They did have control/influence over your enteral destiny though right? And when they gave you an oracle of the future that oracle always came to fruition right?
That's all I am looking for really. Do you know the future? If I piss you off/please you can you dictate the terms of my eternity?
As I recall, a true Oracle was accurate, and weren't gods but mortals, and the Greek deities might well seek advice from them too.
That seems to be because Oracles were agents of the Fates, and the Fates, whilst they WERE technically gods, were unusual inasmuch that even Zeus could not over-rule their decisions and there was a sort of respectful detente between him and them.
To be fair, they might not have the concept of space alien yet.
The machine's narration is very Kieron Gillen.
Oh right, this story is a parallel what happened to the Eternals. They committed mass suicide after realizing their grand purpose from their space gods was to be some kind of petri-dish to let humans multiply... or something like that. Kind of that robot who was made to pass butter in Rick and Morty.
The Eternals waste mortal's lives with callousness and the Celestials do the same to the Eternals I guess.
"I am a stranger from elsewhere. I have certain skills and knacks that may impress you, like a strong hunter would impress others with his skill in the spear, but no, I cannot answer your prayers or fulfill your other metaphysical needs."
I think it was all okay, the grandchild wouldn't be there if his granpa didn't burn that pyre in the first place. And I think the granpa wasn't so sad to pass his time searching for a monster, I think his duty made him feeling important or something. The only sad thing is he never saw again his "god", he could find him before he died at least.

"You mortals all look alike to me"
