This is something at least that should have been addressed a long long time ago. Peter guilt-tripping his wife into selling their marriage and inadvertently their unborn child to Satan (or his closest equivalent) is a permanent stain on his character.

I haven't always loved what Spencer's done with this run, but Strange getting wind of Mephisto's entanglement with Spider-Man and just immediately ready to throw down about it?

If there's something that will *always* melt my cynical heart it's characters who have tough exteriors doing all they can to help Spider-Man when he needs it.

Strange and Spider-Man were always kind of birds of a feather, weren't they? Outsiders who were known allies to most of the super-hero teams, but not really a regular part of them. And I'm not sure there's a hero Peter has had more duo adventures with, unless it's the Human Torch.

He used to be pretty close to Daredevil for similar reasons and - while I think they've grown apart - it still seems like there is is lot of mutual respect there. I love that the current DD run features Spidey so much ... and not just because Zdarsky understands him better than most of his more prominent writers in the past couple decades.

I'd argue that Johnny Storm is Peter's best friend if only because recent events have highlighted that Peter treats a lot of his other friends like crap.

On the one hand: Addressing OMD, yay. And it's always a great moment when another hero learns one of their own needs help and goes in guns blazing.

On the other... more about Kindred. Didn't we just leave this party?
