Because the Phoenix appears to have mistaken Thor Odinson for Oedipus Rex

I feel like that's being incredibly unfair to Oedipus. Oedipus didn't know Jocasta was his mother, and she didn't know he was her son. When they both found out, Jocasta committed suicide and Oedipus blinded himself.

Some might say that having several years on a character would be an achievement in and of itself, even without introducing such luminous characters as Dario Agger, Roz Solomon, and Gorr the God-Butcher.

But apparently not.

It used to be that Black Panther was basically Marvel's Batman: rich, athletic, gadgets, prepared for anything.

Now he's richer than Batman, has better gadgets, more Wakandacarriers, and is prepared for everything, to the point where he has... vibranium covered teeth to stop Wolverine's claws.

I know it wasn't intended but having the Phoenix as Thor's mother brings Asgard into the whole Summers/Grey family nonsense - it makes him Rachel Summers' half-brother.

Before this, Thor’s biological mother was Gaea. Gaea is the daughter of the Demiurge, whom Pym’s great grandson Wiccan is a reincarnation of.

Post-retcon, Thor’s mother is the Phoenix. Jean Grey is a host of the Phoenix, and was (if memory serves correct) married to Scott Summers once. Scott’s brother, Alex, married and had a child with Janet van Dyne (Pym’s ex-wife), and although the events that lead to their marriage/child were averted by Kang (who is currently in possession of said child), they still retain their memories of her and their marriage.

Everyone’s a Pym or a van Dyne if you dig deep enough. And yes, Unstoppable Wasp was great.

... Is Wiccan a reincarnation of Demiurge, though? Thought it was just that he will take on the name when he ascends, but doesn't actually have any connection to the other one (like with Casper Cole calling himself White Tiger, but having no connection to all the other White Tigers).
