Its soo odd seeing Bruce with facial hair. Historically it was the indicator that he was going through a rough patch. Nowadays more and more artists are drawing it on him in normal circumstances.

Is there a reason for the Bat-stubble, or is this just more of the weird uncanny-valley-like nature of Darick Robertson's art style?

IIRC this was during a long case when someone was smuggling sarin gas into Gotham and Bats had gotten dozed with it himself, and only took half a doze of antidote because Joker had been dozed as well.
