In my experience (having been a woman for a number of decades now) we don’t spend all that much time talking about periods, which makes me wonder if Ennis actually knows any women.

I mean, some of us are willing to talk about it a lot more often and a lot more descriptively when a guy who's a sexist is very clearly uncomfortable with it, though. That can be fucking hilarious, tbqh.

I don't know, I feel like "even if the gay guy's a terrible person, it's still not okay to hate him just because he's gay" is also a valuable message. Maybe not intentional here, though.

i dunno...i like Ennis writing Midnighter as mostly a irritable dick to everyone outside of Apollo. In the follow up series featuring kev, he and midnighter bond a little bit though :) (i hope history posts the scene when the orphan kids turn the tables on Kev)

Man, even with the superheroes being capable of and perfectly willing to demolish them in a second flat Ennis characters still get to talk shit to their face and get away with it.

My favourite bit is the part in the previous issue where Kev thinks he can beat Midnighter if Apollo stays out of it. Also the follow-on convo about 'Gayboy Billy'.
