Few comics are apolitical (masked vigilantism), so creating a work that isn’t would be quite a feat. I think what is clear is that stories reflecting Black experiences face politicization due to institutional racism. That stated, the antagonist in White has become President of the United States, so actual politics do play out in the story."

At least when Super Drags said only queers have superpowers and when Madoka said only teen girls get superpowers the effect was exciting stories. This one is awful. And I disagree with representation being political, as before last decade explicitly political comics were rare - if anything, I actually miss the philogophical allegories we sometimes had if this is the alternative.
