I think Dick would be more disappointed at the "Goth" than the "Gymnast", I'd have thought he'd aspire to GLAM gymnast!

I mean, it's not like Grifter is exactly WRONG, but I'm not sure he should SAY it!

I think, rather than the fashion statement, Nightwing's critiquing the practicality. Seems like this particular mask is just attached by a headband, hanging down over Grifter's face like a sheet. There's nothing preventing the lightest movement blowing it up, or into his eyes, or otherwise getting in the way. Wearing a sack with holes in it would be more useful, somehow.

Yes, I thought it was like a faceshield, but no, he flips it up like cloth. Very impractical!

Tbf, at least that mask actually covers his face, rather than just the small area around the eyes.

Not that it helps much when you have a very recognizable headful of bright red hair. Still!
