It is amusing because he thinks Thanos can actually die.

If an entire universe falling on him isn't going to cut it, what will?

What could kill Thanos? (As if Jim Starlin wouldn't write him back to life even if the impossible occurred.) However, I see one possibility of where it can happen.

If Disney/Marvel somehow lost the rights to put him into anything they ran and some other studio got control of him then Thanos would soon be "deader than deadly dead" in a fortnight.

As witnessed by how the X-Men and Fantastic Four were treated not so long ago.

Starlin’s done with Marvel so Cates would be the one to resurrect him.

Thanos has died several times, the issue is he doesn't stay dead.

Yes.
That is the reason for the amusement.
That the character honestly believes threatening Thanos with death has any weight.

If anything, threatening to program him into the Machine so it always resurrects him after he dies would be a more effective strategy.

Esad Ribic is good at making Thanos emotive.

Really like the Thanos versus Eternals fight this issue. If this comic was an anime the last bit would've been made into a gif.

Eh, not neccessarily feeling Thanos voice here. One of the things that was always fun about him was that he actually tended to *like* fighting and throwing down with people. (and knew and recognized this flaw)

What title did the death referred to in the first page happen in? I think the last time I saw Thanos was in the Unworthy Thor miniseries, and he was still alive at the end of that.
