One thing I'd like to add is that this recollection of Thanos's birth name is incorrect. Thanos's intended birth name wasn't even Thanos. On one hand, Thanos's history is one of retcons and contradictions but on the other you figure the editors would at least be following what's been recently established.

I like how the Eternals are collectively referred to as "Hosts" and their mortal offspring Nephelites. It is very biblical.

When was it established that Eternals can't have kids? I know Thena had two, and I thought Titan was a damn colony of eternals.

I think it's a new conceit from Gillen? The whole thing about Titan now is that they were breakaway Eternals who wanted to reproduce amongst themselves (hence Thanos and the others being "true Eternal children") whereas there have been previous half-human or half-Deviant Eternals. Ikaris definitely used to have a father though.

I guess the explanation now could be as simple as the Eternals forming familial bonds based on emotional / social / functional ties rather than anything biological.
