The safety railing of the Batcave leaves a lot to be desired.

I dunno, if you're a Bat-family member and you regard having to take flying leaps between platforms is just how you do things then putting up a railing would be even more dangerous. You'd either have to awkwardly climb over before jumping or be really precise in your running start.

I'd make a "He's the GODDAMMED BATMAN" joke but having read Fables, I can't see it either.

Let's call it "moving the plot along" and agree Bigby threw the fight.

I mean, if we're going to be bringing up Little Red Riding Hood, I'd say Batman is at least as tough as a lumberjack.

Lumberjack? I'm assuming you mean woodsman. The only reason he got a leg up on bigby in the tale was because of his axe and bigby being caught by surprise while in bed. Other than that one time, woodsman has been treated like a joke by bigby. So saying batman is as tough as woodsman isn't saying much.

I wouldn’t exactly say Bigby thought of him as a “joke” unless you played him that way. Even then he held his own well enough for a drunk dude, and later he was able to keep up with Bigby when they needed to interrogate Jersey.

Bigby has gotten into multiple fights with Beast, who is probably at least a dozen times stronger than a man, including in his full beast form in Fables. I doubt the size of the rock should matter.

In fairness, Batman did gas him. With his enhanced senses, Bigby would go down fast

Batman's status as an urban legend within Gotham could play a role. He's vulnerable to Batman because the people in Gotham believe Batman is that powerful.

I mean, how many mundies have they really gone up against? Bigby fought some Nazis and then I guess there was that thing where Bluebeard killed that idiot reporter who thought they were vampires*.

*Seriously, blackmailing them STILL would have been suicidal if he was right.

I'm not sure most of them would see Batman coming. I mean, Bigby should because, y'know, WOLF but I think he has good odds against even a badass like Charming.

Honestly I'd much rather see Batman meet Boy Blue is his prime though. Blue would probably be pretty curious about the costume until he finds out it isn't magic.

THERE WE GO - yea - that's sort of how I was deciding to read it. Batman is empowered by the belief of the city - and Bigby wasn't expecting that and got broad sided.

Yea - I'm sort of expecting him to call Zatana or Constantine for a consultation on this and them be like "erm...yea we got no effing clue'

Though - thehn we have to somehow mentally jive Batman - and all the magic users in his universe (which are now on the table casue batman is here) - not knowing about the fabletown folks. Or dimensional portals - with fabletown folks.
