Date: 2021-10-18 10:35 pm (UTC)I should probably read more She-Hulk in general.

Date: 2021-10-19 01:27 am (UTC)It makes me wonder...I feel as if most people were not happy with the New She-Hulk, so it makes me wonder if Marvel finally took notice to it or another writer wasn't interested in continuing it.
I mean the Hulk is one of the characters that didn't get really affected by the marvel cinematic snergy.
Bruce never developed or got close to Black Widow.
Science Bro's never happened...heck the time science bros was happening, they had the Sin's past issue and other comics making Bruce having a feud or not really liking Tony
Even now...we never got a return of Professor Hulk.
I mean this probably connects to the Hulk's not getting a movie due to his legal issues when it comes to Hulk movies. So I don't think MCU synergy will ever affect the Hulk until he gets his own movie.

Date: 2021-10-19 01:21 am (UTC)Because on Twitter, no one can ever let any offense slide.
My one hope for this new She-Hulk, apart from her being fun again, is that Titania doesn't show up and revert back to a villain out of any upcoming-tv-show-related synergy. Sadly, She-Hulk's rogue's gallery is pretty light on memorable, lasting antagonists.

Date: 2021-10-19 10:55 am (UTC)As I said before, I don't think giving She-Hulk a more monstrous appearance and steering her into a more serious direction is necessarily a bad idea. In fact, I think it could've been very interesting and different, but that's just it: They never did anything interesting with it. They just made her into a Savage Hulk stand-in and left it at that. Then they crapped on the fans when they naturally criticized the change. Just not good all around.

Date: 2021-10-19 09:31 pm (UTC)I think most of the time there's a gem of a good idea in anything even when the stories told suck
but I think the problem with this take on She Hulk is that the basic concept was so totally removed from why anyone liked the character that it couldn't work
I do agree that in most cases even the most ridiculous or bizarre concept can be made to work if the right writer is handling it but I think there are some that just can't work

Date: 2021-10-20 02:21 pm (UTC)As for the whole 'MCU Synergy' angle, I hear this over and over and yet it never really seems to track that much. The comics tend to absorb successfully realized MCU variations much more than the other way around (ex: Rocket and Groot, Nebula, Drax, Nick Fury, etc.) When Iron Man 2 hit the theaters, for example, it was post-Civil War Tony leading as Director of SHIELD. When Iron Man 3 came out, Tony was discovering he was secretly the result of a Kree Monitor's plot and he had a secret brother and was working on a moon base. But I don't see the comics changing pre-emptively for the MCU...rather when fans come to love the movie versions, the comics versions absorb them.
She-Hulk strikes me as the next of the MCU's legacy team. Most of the recent movies/series have been about introducing inheritors for the Avengers: a new Hawkeye, a new Hulk, a new Black Widow, a new Captain America, a new Iron person and so on. (I'm assuming that Bruce's most recent MCU appearance will be explained in She-Hulk, i.e. his form and his physical condition).

Date: 2021-10-20 03:43 pm (UTC)And it's the Rigellians who have Monitors.
(I'd also argue that trying to put Nick L. Fury into the regular comics continuity hasn't really been a breakout success, but that's a whole other thing.)
Buuuut, if it was just a coincidence that just as soon as Jen's getting a Disney+ series she's getting reset back to classic settings, then it's a pretty damn huge coincidence.
