"The Silver Age innocence--or you might say willful ignorance--of Flash, Giant-Man, Wonder Woman, the Mighty Crusaders. These were heroes who trusted authority; in fact, their allegiance was compelled by the censors at the Comics Code. Even Thor, God of Thunder, came down from from Asgard to stop bank robberies; he cared about our property laws! Of course, by the time we had Wolverine and the Punisher and Watchmen and the Frank Miller Batman, heroes were alienated, violent, and liked to spend their nights sticking it to The Man. All of these played a part." - Tom Peyer

The worst part about endings like this is that that’ll be another while before the cliffhanger is resolved...

Hey, it's also possible it never will be. Happens way too often, and twice as much for webcomics.

In fairness, the authorities in the Silver Age were portrayed as being just as squeaky clean as the superheroes (granted, because the Comic Code enforced a squeaky clean portrayal of the authorities, but still), so it made sense as to why the heroes would defer to them.

I mean, it's not a reflection of reality, to be sure, but it's something to keep in mind.

Eh, I still rooted for the villains in the silver age

The Rogues, Catwoman, the Black Cat...those were my kind of heroes

Still are in some cases

I'm not a fan of how DC sometimes tries to make Catwoman wuss out and go "Stealing is wrong, I've learned that now I'm living in a mansion with my millionaire fuckpet" but on the whole I'm rooting for the people who don't give a shit about breaking laws in any given story

It's why I love the Black Cat ongoing so much. Felicia Hardy is both my ideal woman and my ideal hero

Well, I can't blame you for rooting for the most fun side in those stories :).

And in the case of Felicia, the fun and sexy side too

Honestly if a woman is hot, kinky and down to fuck I can forgive almost anything

After all, popodies nerfect
