#2'd ended on him revealing to Megatron - the leader he loyally followed, in this " Autobots're the villains, Decepticons're the heroes " mirror universe - an advantage they had.
#3 opened on the two of them calling other hidden and lone Decepticons to rally around their banner.
In a bar after that " first wave " of recruitment, Starscream flashed back to his academic past, in which the important thing he carried was rooted - to when he was researching the Titans of Cybertron with his partner Jetfire.

(Starscream and Jetfire having been partners in scientific work is a point from the G1 cartoon episode " Fire In The Sky ", when Jetfire was Skyfire.
Outside of a few G1 cartoon fanfics, this is the most extensive treatment of the idea.)
In the present, Starscream and Megatron were dealing with Autobots who'd caught on to their work.

The two of them handled Blaster's subordinates.
Then that user of sonic weaponry stepped in, and knocked Starscream reeling.
Megatron held Blaster back: " Starscream, go now!
" All of this is useless if you're captured! "
Starscream obeyed.

" Tell them you're not a Decepticon, Starscream! "

' Still, there was a moment when I thought he might still be the bot I thought he was.
' Where I wasn't alone in a room of monsters. '
Reflexively, Starscream transformed and took flight.
He broke through the window glass and tore across the sky to the site of his and Jetfire's work.

Kilocycles later, only a few cycles ago from where he was now, Starscream'd returned to the Titan Metroplex - he'd had time to figure out how he could reconcile his corrupted download with what still lay buried.
He'd executed the reconcilation - and now, he had access to the past inside him, sharing space with his doubts in the present.

(" Soundwave's call to arms " was the rallying call at the start of this issue.)

(Pagecount's 6 and a half of 20 from #3 - #4 is slated for next week.
Writing's Danny Lore, art's Guido Guidi, colors're John Paul-Bove, and letters're Neil Uyetake.
Publisher's IDW.)
