Bleeding Cool reports that the Ben Reilly/Spider-Man flirtation with Warren Ellis' BEYOND Corporation is to come to an end in March, with the most likely possibility that Peter takes on the mask once again for yet ANOTHER relaunch. And an old...'friend' of BEYOND is getting involved as well...

Well, that was a short-lived relaunch, huh.

(and gosh, there have been a lot of tie-in one-shots. Strange.)

... though given the underwhelming mess that was Ahmed's last foray with Miles and the Ultimate universe, a sense of all-purpose weariness feels warranted.

Why, it's almost as though the last word has been said on the Ultimate universe and writers should leave it alone!

...nahhh, there's still blood in that there stone. We never even got to meet Ultimate Bob, Agent of Hydra!

Now, the Ultimate Universe had some good ideas, like... um...
uh...
errm...
... hold on...

... This should be easier. It existed for over a decade, fer cryin' out loud... that had to be something in there.

(Not sure whether to count the characters who got ported over or not. Otherwise it narrows the possibilities even more.)

The basic premise of giving us versions of these characters not burdened by decades of continuity had promise. And large stretches of Bendis's Spider-Man run were a lot of fun.

Pretty sure it was a storyline of planned length, and not a full relaunch. I wonder what comes next... and if this was just something to pass the time between major status quos or something else.
