I think they recognize he did it, just not HOW he did it. I doubt Doctor Doom told them that he used Purple Man...and I REALLY doubt Purple Man confessed that he was stuffed into a machine in his undies so Doom could rule the world.

I never get tired of Otto's ego (he once dismissed Doom as beneath as "not even a real doctor") but this makes sense, Fisk so pushed to be mayor and President while Otto is out for the bigger prize.

It is intriguing you almost never see those two match up, fascinating contrast of scientist vs mobster but also chess masters so fun seeing this.

Yes, but as Victor Von Doom takes Science very seriously, he insisted on going through the entire Doctoral Thesis process and get his work peer reviewed for at least nine-ten of his doctorates. Because Doom wouldn't stand for anyone accusing him of getting fake Doctorates.

Only one professor dared to put in actual criticism in his review. Doom had him promoted to University Dean for his honesty and work ethic. Admittedly, he also removed one of his eyes for the insolence, but they're actually on good terms now.

I think either he got his thugs in skeleton masks mixed up or else he's demonstrating the "Criminal genius" that saw him repeatedly get his ass kicked and his plans foiled by a teenager who wasn't even old enough to legally drink because he sent the braindead bodybuilder after one of the worlds most dangerous martial artists and sent the guy who has a photographic memory of every fighting style after the guy who isn't that

It isn't that Taskmaster has a photographic memory of every fighting style, it's that his body can also mimic those movements. Which really didn't work well when he fought Slapstick and Slapstick dodged by bending backwards at a 90 degree angle at the waist.

As I understand it, Iron Fist isn't what he used to be. Lost all his powers and is the Iron Fist in name only.

There was a series a while back that established a new, non-Danny Iron Fist they could've used.
(Though it wouldn't be terribly surprising if, should anything Iron Fist related show up in future MCU stuff, they just ignored the crap out of the Netflix version.

I think it's mostly the whole "rich white guy co-opting vaguely non-specific Asian culture" thing. It flew well in the 70's when kung-fu movies were huge, but feels... problematic in the 21st century.
