And according to color sexperts, horny red heads pair well with kinky blondes in black PVC who will be happy to pound them into orgasmic oblivion while they're tied up in their very own special "Cats Cradle" of rope bondage
Mary Jane and Felicia became friends almost by accident. Due to the times Peter asked Felicia to protect Mary Jane during major events. (Maximum Carnage and others I don't recall.)
Both because I ship them and because it's far preferable to them being written as at each others throats just because Felicia used to bang MJ's boyfriend
Next issue: Peter swings back to apologise to MJ and Felicia. "That sounded a heck of a lot more impressive in my head, I swear."
I mean, it is a very Peter thing to say, and entirely believable given his history.
Though on the plus side, an attack based on making people feel negative thoughts ain't going to do much to Peter. It's like trying to drown a fish.
(increasingly worried that the conclusion is going to have Ben come back and die 'heroically' to save Peter. Again. Or get killed because of Peter's self-destructive stupidity.)
Reminds me of one of my favorite One Piece battles, where Perona could crush the spirits of everyone else with her powers, but Usopp was immune because every day he didn't die horribly was a pleasant surprise to him.
The continued issue of comic books having largely either "evil and manipulative," "good, but ineffectual" or "barely any to be seen"," psychiatrists/psychologists/therapists/other mental health specialists is especially frustrating as we in this century actually begin to move on from a mindset where mental health is quietly shoved in a box, and actually trying to come to grips with "it's something that we need to talk about as a society and work to improve systems which help people who are going through mental health concerns."
We have had attempts at addressing mental health, but the less said about some of them, the better.
The few times we do get competent, decent mental health professionals in comics, they largely tend to disappear or be in the background. Like in DC, I can think of...what, Joan Leland as a fairly competent professional, if only hampered by working at Arkham? And she's in the DCAU and Telltale, not sure if she's even made it to comics canon.
And I can't tell why (outside of status quo stuff) that this occurs. Whether it's simply continued cultural trends reinforcing the idea that mental health and the professionals involved are only in it for the money or prestige of writing about some patient in a tell-all (ala Friedlander from GTA V), or some decades long overreaction to Wertham...honestly, it's frustrating and disappointing that its still largely existent as a story-telling element, if now there seems to be some advancement.
In this case she isn't evil of her own free will, she was turned evil by Beyond Corp who mutated her into a goblin monster with a jar full of Norman Osborn's Evil Thoughts
True, the exact circumstances of evil turning are not of her personal choice in this, so it's a bit less straight cut then "Today, I think I will set this orphanage on fire while kicking an old person down some stairs," but it does fall into "mental health professionals in comics have bad things happen to them," category. And I think after this, if she's turned back from being Queen Goblin, she'll need some mental health help, and given this is Marvel...well, good chance of any of the categories mentioned coming true.
"We had a psychiatrist ready to counsel you about being turned from a psychiatrist into a supervillain but they became a supervillain this morning so we've had to cancel that appointment"
"Yes, they're currently in Ravencroft after suffering an extreme nervous breakdown after dealing with their former patient, a psychiatrist who is so happened, again turned evil."
"Isn't there anyone who can help me?"
"Well, there is Dr. Timothy..."
"I'll take him."
[Later]
"Sure are a lot of pictures of toenails on the wall."
Yeah, this new form of hers doesn't make much sense. I mean, if it contains all Norman's sins, how come she doesn't have the crime against nature that is Norman's hair?
In all seriousness, why did she transform at all? Sin Eater didn't get all Gobliny when he took them. He didn't even turn all negative when he had Mr. Negative's powers. He just got huge when he took Juggernaut's for some reason. And his neck disappeared. I feel like it would work better if Beyond Corp used a variant of the Goblin Formula specifically tailored for this. I mean, what's a Spider-Man without a Goblin? With Norman out of the business for the time being, a replacement was needed for Ben. This makes sense. Instead they exposed her to something as abstract as "sins" and hoped for the best.
I know she just appeared and all, but she's not being a very good Goblin. Where's the insane peels of laughter? Ned Leeds was better at being a Goblin and he was a brainwashed patsy.
Poor Ben doesn't even get a Brand Name Goblin he gets the ninety nine cent store off model bootleg action figure that got discontinued because of safety lawsuits in the country it was produced in
Just said they "exposed her" to Norman's sins. I wouldn't be surprised if Kindred gave them to Beyond Corp to make sure they didn't go back to Norman. Or maybe he just put them in a jar and Beyond Corp found it.
That makes me think they either made her read Norman's fifty chapter self insert Harry Potter fanfic on AO3 where he dates Luna Lovegood or they showed her his memories of him banging Gwen Stacy
