X-Club #1 - "We Do Science! Part One"

Honestly, anyone with even a passing interest in science will know that we live amidst a conceptual swamp of brain-meltingly insane truths and mysteries. Every time we make a breakthrough we explode a billion new questions. Ours is a universe where – just to give you one example – two particles can be “entangled” so that by manipulating one, the other mirrors its behaviour instantly… even if they’re separated by massive distances. And nobody knows exactly why. Even Einstein, everyone’s brainiac of choice, called it “spooky action at distance”. Some people act like Science is this boring force which comes along and steals all the magic and mystery from the world, and yet here we have one of the greatest intellects of the recent past describing things as “spooky”…? Where are they now?

Doctor Nemesis: On Krakoa and as bonkers as ever.
Beast: On Krakoa and committing ever-shadier war crimes by the day.
Madison Jefferies: Sentenced to the Pit for unspecified crimes.
Danger: Apparently unwelcome on Krakoa due to being an artificial intelligence and/or working against them.
Yuriko Takiguchi: Died of natural causes. As a human, he won't be back anytime soon.
Kavita Rao: Whereabouts unknown. As a human, she's unwelcome on Krakoa. I fully expect to see her turn up in service to Orchis, either willingly or unknowingly because I bet they'd love to revisit her "mutant cure."

These days, the X-Men Science Club, as much as there is one, is Nemesis and Forge making weird plant-based stuff, while Beast looks for ways to exploit it.

If there's one thing I'm certain this community is ready for, it's giving names to super-powered sea creatures. I think their team name is the Deep Six.

Jack Kirby already gave us the Deep Six, a team of aquatic fish-like warriors who serve Darkseid.
